The ornately-carved pedimented north front of the Park School House at Wilton Park. The rest of the building appears to date to the early nineteenth century, with this north face's stonework created by Nicholas Stone Campbell circa 1637-39.

Description

Wilton House itself was constructed for the first Earl of Pembroke after 1544 and Wilton Park enclosed circa 1550. This photograph was taken by the garden historian, WJ Day.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project. The print was accessioned into the collection of the National Buildings Record on the 20th of October 1952.
