The west side of the Palladian Bridge, a footbridge spanning the River Nadder at Wilton Park. The bridge was built in 1736-37 by architect Robert Morris, and is thought to have been inspired by Palladio's rejected design for Venice's Rialto Bridge.

Description

Wilton House itself was constructed for the first Earl of Pembroke after 1544 and Wilton Park enclosed circa 1550. This photograph was taken by the American home style magazine, House and Garden.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project. The print was accessioned into the collection of the National Buildings Record in 1941.
