The fine fifteenth century Baynton Tomb, set against the south wall of the south transept of All Saint's Church in Edington. Although not visible in this photograph, the tomb is colourfully painted and is thought to commemorate a monk called Baynton.

Description

The photograph was taken in 1901 by J A Gotch, (1852-1942), architect and architectural historian, who had a special interest in Elizabethan and Jacobean architecture.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
