Description

The church was restored in 1879-1881 by G E Street. It is probable that this photograph dates to the 1880s or 1890s and shows the interior after restoration. The photograph was taken by Frederick Herbert Crossley ( 1868-1955), draftsman and authority on ecclesiastical architecture. The name 'E H Stone' is handwritten on the reverse of the print's card mount, but at present it is unclear what this person's involvement with the photograph may have been.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
