The fourteenth and fifteenth century carved wooden rood screen in the Church of St Mary, Hullavington, which itself dates to the twelfth century. In 1917 this rood screen was removed, with some parts later incorporated into the present screen.

Description

A note on the reverse of the print states that in around 1921 a large amount of the timbers from the original medieval screen were burnt in the churchyard. The church was originally dedicated to St Mary Magdalene but was rededicated to St Mary the VIrgin from 1763. The photograph was taken by Sidney Pitcher FRPS.
