Description

The Parish Church of St Michael and All Angels was begun in the twelfth century, with additions in the thirteenth century. The west tower was added in 1725 and the north aisle in 1755. The church was restored in 1857-1858 by the architect JH Hakewill.

Archival History

Reverse of card mount is stamped 'Not to be reproduced without permission' and 'From the collection of G Granville Buckley'. Previously held in the collections of George Granville Buckley and the Courtauld Institute. Courtauld Institute number B2163. This photograph was withdrawn from the Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
