The reverse of the card mount is stamped 'REYNOLDS', which may refer to the photographer Professor Sidney Hugh Reynolds, who is known to have been active in the 1890s.

This photograph was withdrawn from the Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
