Description

The foundations of the Cathedral Church of St Mary at Salisbury were laid on the 25th of February 1220, and the Cathedral was completed in 1266.

Archival History

Previously held in the collections of George Granville Buckley and the Courtauld Institute. Courtauld Institute number B.35/111. This photograph was withdrawn from the Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.

The reverse of the card mount is stamped 'Not to be reproduced without permission' and 'From the collection of G Granville Buckley'.
