Description

The photographer has noted on the back of the print: 'The Law Courts, London. West half of the iron gates, at the west end on the Strand. Probably designed by Arthur Edmund Street'.

He has also added underneath: 'George Edmund Street, the architect of the Law Courts'.

The photographer, Philip E W Street, was the grandson of George Edmund Street. The print was housed in a box labelled 'G E Street buildings', alongside other photographs of sites with connections to the architect.
