Description

In this photograph the boathouse is derelict and roofless. It was built for the repair and accommodation of the fast packet boats which operated along the Lancaster Canal between Preston and Kendal during the first half of the 19th century.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
