This image appears as Plate 33 in 'An Inventory of the Historical Monuments in Hertfordshire', first published by the RCHME in 1910. In this volume the photograph is captioned "Chamber of the Feretrar".

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
