Description

John Sawbridge Erle-Drax built this mausoleum for himself in c.1872. He died in 1887. His design included a letter-box, so he could continue to have The Times newspaper delivered after his death. The mausoleum was demolished in 1935.

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
