Description

The left hand image shows the only carved faced from a cross shaft. The flat band moulding on the lower panel frames an armed man facing left. He grasps a spear in both hands and carries a round shield over his left arm. Only part of the plain plait in the upper panel survives. The right hand image shows the surviving face of a cross shaft. Enclosed by moulding are two motifs. At the top are two large twists and below a six strand plait.

Now in Conyers Chapel.
