Description

The strainer arches were added after the 14th century extension of the crossing tower resulted in a structure which was too heavy for the existing piers.

OP26789 and OP26791 show the same image.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.

The photograph was accessioned by the National Monuments Record on 14th November 1967.
