Description

The Market Cross is an octagonal, timber framed structure which is open on the ground floor and which has an external staircase providing access to the enclosed first storey. It was built after a fire in 1616 and was restored in 1863 and 1989.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
