Description

This photograph was taken before the Hotel de Paris was constructed c1895.

The jetty visible in this photograph was destroyed in a storm in 1897. It was replaced with an iron pier which opened in 1901.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
