Description

On the mount for this print the location of the image is incorrectly identified as Charlton Kings, Gloucestershire.

The cemetery was laid out by landscape gardener George Yiend in 1863. Construction of the chapels began in 1862 and they were consecrated by the Bishop of Gloucester on 19th November 1864.

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
