Description

The location of the cabinet is identified on the mount only as Woodchester Park. The park was purchased by William Leigh in 1845 and the main house, known as The Mansion, was constructed in the mid-19th century but never actually completed or lived in. The house where the Leigh Family actually lived was known as The Cottage and this is possibly where the chest was photographed.

On the back of the mount is a note stating: 'F A Crallan collection given Jan 1954'.
