Description

Underneath the print, on the mount, the room is called Queen Elizabeth's room. Helmingham Hall hosted Queen Elizabeth I in or around 1578 and so it is likely that this room is named as such because it was used by the monarch during that visit.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
