Description

Underneath the image, the font is described on the mount as 'SEVEN SACRAMENTS FONT (defaced)'. It is decorated with niches on the panels of both the bowl and the stem and it now has a tall, openwork font canopy which was designed, in 1935, by Frank Ernest Howard, the photographer of this image.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
