Sir Stephen Soame was Lord Mayor of London in 1593 and he was also responsible for the construction of the Soame Chapel in St Peter's Church. He died in 1619 and his tomb bears the recumbent effigies of himself and his wife, surrounded by the kneeling figures of their children.
This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
