Description

The car is possibly a De Dion-Bouton, registration AA1936. A poster in the background announces a talk on the Pyrenees to be given at the Guildhall on Monday 27th February, which would date the picture to 1905 or 1911. It is perhaps possible to make out the name of Hilaire Belloc on the poster, as speaker, though it is by no means clear. That attribution would support the 1911 date, as Belloc published a book on the Pyrenees in 1909. The car might also suggest the latter date.
