The chest tomb, topped with the effigy of a priest, in the north transept of Beverley Minster. The effigy is believed to be of Nicholas de Huggate, a provost of the church, who died in 1338

Description

The chest tomb is not thought to have originally been connected with the effigy, but was perhaps moved into the north transept from under the canopy in the nave.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
