Description

St Mary's Church, as it appears in this photograph, was built between 1858 and 1861 by J L Pearson for Lord Hotham and replaced the existing dilapidated brick and stone structure.

The entire church is built in the Geometric style and consists of a three-stage tower with spire, nave, south porch, north and south transepts, chancel, north and south chapels and north vestry.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
