Description

The Chapel of the Resurrection and the attached vestries, in the south-east corner of the church, were added by Sir Charles Nicholson around 1920. They were just two of the many 19th and 20th century alterations to St James' which included the rebuilding of the transepts and porch, the replacing of the aisle windows and the restoration of the nave roof.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.

The photograph was received by the National Buildings Record on 11th February 1944.
