Description

The north transept of St James' Church was badly damaged during the Second World War and the organ was largely destroyed. Although the transept has since been rebuilt, the church's organs are now located at the west end of the nave and on the north side of the choir.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.

The photograph was received by the National Buildings Record on 11th February 1944.
