Description

The dovecote adjoins the west side of Sherbourne Farmhouse but is possibly now part of the residence known as The Stables.

Although the creation date of the photograph is recorded as 1970, it is possible that this image was made by photographing an older, existing print. Additionally, the front of the print appears have been coated in a substance, possibly a varnish, resulting in a brown tint across the image.

It is thought that the print is probably an enlargement of part of the image shown in OP29685.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.

The photograph was accessioned by the National Monuments Record on 14th October 1970.
