Description

Thorington Hall is a 17th century timber-framed house which had fallen into disrepair by the early 20th century. It was purchased in 1937 by Professor Lionel Penrose who oversaw its restoration and gifted it to the National Trust in 1940.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
