Description

This stone grave marker is recorded as 'Hexham 13, Northumberland', in The Corpus of Anglo Saxon Stone Sculpture. It is recorded as a grave marker, found in January 1911, during the digging of foundations of a building in Beaumont Street, Hexham. The stone is now in a niche in the north wall of Hexham Abbey.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
