Description

The image is entitled 'The Aquarum Brighton' and additionally, on the back of the print, is the handwritten note 'New address 18 Oldlands Ave Hassocks, Sussex'.

The exterior of the aquarium was completely rebuilt between 1927 and 1929.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.

The photograph was received by the National Buildings Record on 3rd November 1948.
