Description

The Metropole Hotel was designed by Alfred Waterhouse, the architect of the Natural History Museum, and opened in 1890. It was renovated in the early 1960s and two new floors were added.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
