This photograph shows the castle before restoration by the Office of Works. The woman is standing on what is now part of the restored moat.

Archival History

"Watts Collection" is written on the reverse of the print.

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
