Description

The photographer's typewritten notes on the reverse of this print read: "PLYMOUTH, S. Devon. The blitzed city which has made most progress in permanent reconstruction. This panorama from the roof of Pickfords building shows the 1950 appearance of this progressive town, which have succeeded in breaking through red tape and getting things done. The Plymouth Plan will cost £15 million in all." This photograph forms part of a panorama showing the progress in Plymouth's post-war redevelopment in 1950. The other two images (original numbers 22740 & 22742) are not present. OP36060 & OP36062 show the same view in 1954 and 1956.
