Description

A note on the reverse of the photograph reads: 'In this double gabled house Bishop Hooper spent the night before his martyrdom at the stake, in 1555, in front of his own Cathedral. Recently restored, it is now well cared for and has become an English Folk Museum under the care of the Corporation...'.
