Description

The house, which dated from the early 18th century, was demolished in 1964 with its site being replaced partly by new gates to the Abbey churchyard and an extension to the road area of 'The Crescent'. Number 34 Church Street, the timber framed building nearest the camera, is one of a long row of medieval houses known as Abbey Lawn Cottages. They are considered to be an important example of medieval housing and are Grade I listed.
