Description

This building dates from 1906, built to the design of Walter Ridler, the Tewkesbury Borough Surveyor. It was built as additional school accommodation to Abbey House, the original school which stood on the Bell Hotel car park until its demolition in 1959. The building became the Tewkesbury Library in 1952 when the school moved on to larger premises. In the 1990s a new Library opened near the north end of the High Street, since which time this building has had a number of different uses, it is currently (2020) in educational use once more.
