Description

The pier was originally opened in 1862. Major improvements, including the construction of the two kiosks shown in the photograph, took place in 1888-9. The kiosks were replaced with a new pavilion which opened in 1926. The postcard was produced by James Valentine and Sons Limited, and is postmarked 30 September 1903.
