The Liverpool Stadium was a boxing arena on St Paul's Square, Bixteth Street, Liverpool. This foundation stone was laid in July 1932 by the Earl of Lonsdale, and the stadium opened in October 1932. The foundation stone was re-discovered in a nearby garage. It was moved to the Museum of Liverpool, where it later went on permanent display. This photograph, with the background removed, was published on page 162 of 'Played in Liverpool' by Ray Physick.
