Description

The Aigburth Cricket Ground or Aigburth sports ground was laid out on 20 acres in the late 19th century. The ground is divided by the railway line, with a cricket pitch on the north side and rugby pitches on the south side. Additional rugby pitches further to the south were sold for housing in the 1990s. The cricket pavilion was built in 1880, designed by Thomas Harnett Harrison. The ground is home to Liverpool Cricket Club. This photograph was published on page 114 of 'Played in Liverpool' by Ray Physick.
