Description

The boathouse was built in 1930 by the Civil Service Rowing Association. In the early 21st century the boathouse was shared by the Cygnet Rowing Club (formed in 1890 by staff of the General Post Office) and Barnes Bridge Ladies Rowing Club (formed in 1927 and, in 2014, one of only two women-only rowing clubs in Britain). This photograph was published on page 54 of 'Played in London' by Simon Inglis.
