Description

The racecourse was in use from 1890 until 1962. The gates were opened to block the road and so to allow the horses a clear run along the course's south stretch. The racecourse was laid out on the site of the earlier Hampton Racecourse, which before that had been Moseley Hurst. This photograph was published on page 21 of 'Played in London' by Simon Inglis.
