Description

The Strawberry, also known as the Strawberry Inn, was built in the 19th century to serve pleasure gardens in area. It is now used by Newcastle United Football Club fans on match days. The Gallowgate east corner stand is also known as the Strawberry Corner, due to its proximity to the pub. This photograph was published on page 49 of 'Played in Tyne & Wear' by Lynn Pearson.
