Description

The bowling green was laid out in 1929-1930. The Black Horse was one of several pubs in Birmingham to be built as part of the Reformed Pubs movement in the 1920s and 1930s. The pub and bowling green pavilion are Grade II* and Grade II listed respectively. This photograph was published on page 173 of 'Bowled Over: The bowling greens of Britain' by Hugh Hornby.
