Description

The bowling green is thought to be the oldest surviving pub green in London, and has been in use since around 1805, or perhaps since the Sun Inn opened in around 1775. The sign claims the club was established in 1725, though this may be erroneous. This photograph was published on page 102 of 'Bowled Over: The bowling greens of Britain' by Hugh Hornby.
