Description

The roof cover was reputedly primarily designed to shelter bookmakers at greyhound meetings. The 'Shed End' terrace was demolished in 1994 after publication of the Taylor Report following the 1989 Hillsborough disaster. It was replaced with a seated stand, also known as the Shed End. This photograph was published on page 85 of 'Engineering Archie: Archibald Leitch - football ground designer' by Simon Inglis. This image was scanned from an undated 35mm transparency.
