Description

The stand was built in 1926 to the designs of Archibald Leitch. Steelwork was provided by Francis Morton & Co Ltd, iron merchants and constructional engineers of Liverpool. The company provided steelwork to several of Leitch's clients, including Everton Football Club beginning with the redevelopment of the stadium's main stand in 1909. This photograph was published on page 44 of 'Engineering Archie: Archibald Leitch - football ground designer' by Simon Inglis. This image was scanned from an undated 35mm transparency.
