Description

Middlesbrough Football Club moved to Ayresome Park in 1903. The stadium was designed by Archibald Leitch with the Clyde Structural Iron Company, Glasgow. The North Stand originally had ten columns supporting its barrel roof; this was reduced to four columns by 1966. The stadium was demolished in around 1997 and the site was redeveloped for housing. This image was scanned from an undated 35mm transparency.
