Roker Park was opened in 1898 and originally had wooden stands. Archibald Leitch designed the Main Stand (1929) and the Clock Stand (1936). The stadium was demolished in 1997-1998 and the site was redeveloped for housing. This photograph was published on page 127 of 'Engineering Archie: Archibald Leitch - football ground designer' by Simon Inglis.
