Description

Coventry Central Baths (later known as Coventry Sports and Leisure Centre) were opened in April 1966. The building was designed by Coventry City Architects Department. It is considered one of the "most ambitious baths" to be built in Britain between 1960-66, and is Grade II listed. The leisure pool was formerly the intermediate pool, and was designed as a rectangle. This photograph was published on page 241 of 'Great Lengths: The historic indoor swimming pools of Britain' by Dr Ian Gordon and Simon Inglis.
