Description

London Fields Lido was opened in 1932. It is thought to have been designed by Harry A Rowbotham and T L Smithson. If so, it is the earliest surviving lido which was designed by the pair for London County Council. The lido closed in 1988 and was restored in around 2004-2006. This photograph was published on page 169 of 'Liquid Assets: The lidos and open air swimming pools of Britain' by Janet Smith.
